The name’s Kayla Seybert and I am a 22 year old Radio Broadcasting major.
I have been a member of WPPJ for 4 years and have also had a show for 4 years, or 8 semesters.
I don’t have a name for my show. I know, I’m lame. But I am on Wednesdays from 8-10 pm. I play music and discuss the latest music news, covering genres like acoustic, rock, punk, indie, etc.
My show is unique because of the music I play. That is a super generic answer. But it’s really good and I’m awesome and I’m going to find a way to get you hooked, or introduce you to an artist or song that may just change the way you begin to hear music.
I’d want to be stranded on an island with David Cook. Don’t tell my boyfriend. He already wants to kill him.
Third Eye Blind. Hands down. I have devoted my life to this band since the 3rd grade. They changed my life when I heard “Semi Charmed Life” on the radio. I’ll never forget the way it made me feel. Hearing the DJ introduce it was what made me think about wanting to do that as my job when I got older. They have shown me the way as far as music is concerned and I honestly believe that have helped me develop in to who I am and have helped me find myself. They were always with me when no one else was. I think they will forever be my best friend, my crutch, my savior. I can’t imagine life without them.
I devote all of my time to WPPJ. I have no time for outside activities. Kidding. But all of my other activities involve radio as well. I am an active volunteer at WYEP Radio as well as intern at CBS Radio in Pittsburgh. I love radio and music more than almost anything.
My dream job is to be the female Ryan Seacrest. He has two radio shows, hosts several different television entertainment programs as well as produces shows and albums. That would definitely be my ideal dream job. But being more realistic, I would be more than happy to accept any job in the radio or music industry.
I have seen Good Charlotte in concert 16 times. I love baseball. My brother is my best friend. My hair is a different color every 2 months. I once tried out for America’s Next Top Model for fun. I gave my phone number to Nate McClouth. I love to bake.
