Hard rock fans can begin to rejoice! All of the original members of Guns N’ Roses willbe attending the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, held in Cleveland on April 14th.
That means former drummer Steven Adler, former bassist Duff McKagan, former guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin, and current vocalist Axl Rose will all appear together to celebrate their music since forming in 1985. Keyboardist Dizzy Reed broke the news to Billboard Magazine (which you can read here), and the announcement spread like wildfire across all media outlets within hours today. For some of the original members, this is their first public appearance together, since 1996. Focus will be heavily placed on lead singer Axl Rose and former guitarist Slash especially, as it is rumored their fighting caused the end of the original line-up, and the two haven’t been seen in public together since.
My first “parental advisory” labeled album that I purchased at just 13-years-old, was Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction (which was recorded by the original line-up). Therefore, this announcement holds a special place in my heart because I have been a Guns N’ Roses fan since that moment.
You can catch the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony on HBO in early May, after it is recorded on April 14th in Cleveland.
